Job Description
The Procurement Staff will play an important role in supporting project operations by ensuring that construction materials and equipment are available on time and at the right price. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented and able to work closely with suppliers, project teams, and internal departments to maintain smooth procurement activities.
The main responsibility is to search for and evaluate reliable suppliers or subcontractors who can provide materials such as natural materials, steel, concrete, and heavy equipment. The selected suppliers must meet both quality standards and budget expectations so that the project can run efficiently without delays.
Another key duty is conducting price negotiations with vendors. The Procurement Staff will discuss pricing, payment terms (TOP), and delivery schedules that align with the project’s financial planning and cash flow. Strong negotiation skills are important to achieve fair agreements that benefit both the company and suppliers.
The role also involves preparing price comparison reports from different vendors. By reviewing and comparing multiple offers, the Procurement Staff helps management make informed purchasing decisions based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Monitoring the delivery schedule is another critical task. The Procurement Staff ensures that materials arrive at the project location according to the planned Just-In-Time (JIT) schedule. Proper coordination with suppliers and project teams is required to avoid shortages or delays that could affect construction progress.
In daily operations, the role requires good documentation and reporting. Microsoft Excel will be used to track supplier data, price comparisons, purchase orders, and delivery timelines. Clear communication and organized records will help keep procurement activities transparent and efficient.
Candidates for this position should have a background in Civil Engineering or Management (D3/S1). Prior experience of at least one year in a similar role within a contractor or building materials company will be highly valued. Understanding construction material specifications and current market prices will help the candidate perform the role effectively.
Integrity, responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams are also essential qualities for this position.
