Job Description

Stepping into a leadership role at Google as Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the MENA region means being at the center of where technology, society, and policy meet. This isn’t a desk-bound role—it’s about building meaningful relationships, understanding complex regional dynamics, and helping shape how technology fits into the future of countries across the Middle East and North Africa.

In this role, you’ll act as a bridge between Google and governments, regulators, and key institutions. Your work will involve listening just as much as speaking—understanding different perspectives, concerns, and priorities, then helping translate those into thoughtful strategies that align with Google’s mission and values.

Every day will look a little different. One moment you might be in discussions with policymakers about digital transformation, and the next you could be coordinating internally with product teams or leadership to align on key policy decisions. You’ll help guide how Google responds to emerging regulations, supports partnerships, and contributes to public conversations around technology.

This role also comes with a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll need to anticipate challenges, assess risks, and plan ahead—especially in a region as diverse and fast-evolving as MENA. It’s about staying calm under pressure, thinking strategically, and making decisions that are both practical and forward-looking.

At its core, this position is for someone who understands people, policy, and progress—and knows how to bring all three together in a meaningful way.
