As a Telemarketing Consultant in the Retail Telemarketing Centre, you’ll be part of a fast-moving team that focuses on promoting insurance products while delivering a positive customer experience.

Your day will mostly revolve around reaching out to potential and existing customers. The leads are already provided, so your job is to connect, understand their needs, and offer suitable insurance solutions. It’s not just about making calls—it’s about making meaningful conversations that build trust. Some customers may be hearing about these products for the first time, so your ability to explain clearly and confidently will make all the difference.

Sales targets are part of the role, including cross-selling other related products. But what really matters is how you approach your work. A friendly tone, patience, and the ability to listen carefully often lead to better results than pushing for a quick sale. Over time, you’ll develop your own style and learn what works best when speaking to different types of customers.

You’ll also handle incoming enquiries from customers who want more details or clarification. In those moments, your role is to guide them, answer their questions, and ensure they feel comfortable with their decisions. Building long-term relationships is important, and many successful consultants grow their own customer base through referrals and repeat interactions.

Working here also means following structured guidelines. CIMB Bank places strong emphasis on compliance, so you’ll be trained to follow proper procedures while handling customer information and closing sales.

Salary

  1. Basic Salary: MYR 2,500 – MYR 4,000 per month
  2. Incentives & Commission: MYR 1,000 – MYR 5,000+ (performance-based)
  3. Total Potential Earnings: Up to MYR 6,000 – MYR 9,000/month

Requirements

  1. Credit in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mathematics
  2. Diploma or Degree preferred (SPM with required credits also accepted)
  3. Sales experience is an advantage but not mandatory
  4. Target-driven mindset with passion for sales
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Comfortable speaking on calls for extended periods
  7. Age below 35 years (as per role preference)
  8. Ability to handle customer objections confidently
