So, what will you be doing?
We’re looking for an awesome Reservoir Engineer to join our Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC). The UPDC is basically a corporate university that develops and delivers professional development courses to Petroleum Engineers and Geoscientists.
Your main gig will be to develop and deliver Reservoir Engineering training programs. You’ll also be working closely with UPDC technical advisors from other disciplines to create multidisciplinary training programs.
Key Responsibilities (Your day-to-day will involve)
- Making Reservoir Engineering (RE) curricula even better for all RE professionals.
- Using and teaching a bunch of techniques, including: numerical simulation, analytical modeling, and experimental analysis to figure out the properties of reservoir rocks and fluids.
- Predicting fluid flow and pressure behavior.
- Designing the best well placement, completion, and production strategies.
- Developing technical content, like: existing RE-catalog curriculum, new courses, and E-learning delivery courses as needed.
- Getting involved in delivering our upstream professional onboarding program.
- Developing and delivering RE curriculum courses based on your area of expertise.
- Handling administrative duties for the RE job family, including creating course schedules each year.
- Working with training coordinators to enroll participants.
- Meeting with technical experts from the organization to keep the curriculum fresh, and collaborating with the contracting department to find industry experts to deliver vendor courses.
- Collecting and analyzing feedback after courses to make the content even better.
What you need to bring to the table:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
- An Advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering is a nice bonus! Other Engineering degrees combined with solid experience in Reservoir Engineering will also be considered an advanced degree.
- 15 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, including 10 or more recent active Reservoir Engineering technical roles that involve mentoring younger professionals.
